How do I update Amelia?

There are three possible cases when updating, please read this article carefully to detect which one best suits your needs.

First, you need to check what version of the app you have in your headset. In order to check the version you currently have, you can turn on the headset and see it at the bottom of the first black screen. You can also see it under the Settings option or inside the Settings option details:

Once you know which version you have, select one of these options and follow the steps to update your device:

 

  1. If you have a version lower than 0.2.44, for example, 0.2.38, and see the previous Psious app version, you need to contact our Customer Success team so they can assist you with the steps to manually update your headset!
  2. If you have version 0.2.44 Amelia will automatically detect if an update is available and proceed to download and install it. 
     
    • Amelia asks me to install the application.

      The procedure is as follows:

      • Press Install and wait for the process to finish after this press Done. Amelia should start with the new version.

      *If the automatic update is taking some time to appear in your headset it may be because variations in wifi stability are slowing the download process, here are some steps to follow to help the download:

      • Switch on your headset and ensure you have a strong wifi connection.
      • Allow the Main menu of the Psious app to load (the view displaying the 4-digit pairing code).
      • Quick press the power button to switch into standby mode.
      • Wait 10-20 minutes (depending on wifi speed/stability).
      • Quick press the power button to wake up your headset.
      • You will receive the prompt to install the update from VRlauncher, select install using the confirm button on the headset.

      ***If you don’t receive the prompt to update but see a blue loading bar beneath the pairing code, please return the headset to standby mode and wait a little longer to wake the headset up.

      ***If you previously denied the headset the option to update, follow step 1 and contact Customer Success for further assistance. 

  3. It is important that even if you see that the bar is at 100% and nothing happens, several processes may be happening in the background, do not turn off or restart the headset.
  4. If your version is 0.2.48 or higher you need to quickly press the off button one single time, to leave the headset on standby mode, this way it will detect the update automatically and it will begin on its own. You should be able to see after this update the latest version of the app 0.2.54!
